Teaching Assistant (+ some hours as a Midday Supervisory Assistant)

Camblesforth Community Primary Academy, part of Ebor Academy Trust, has three exciting opportunities to be part of our team. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will also work as a Midday Supervisory Assistant to start in September 2020 as below. Due to the nature of the time table in school the right candidate could apply to fulfil all vacancies.

NJC 8 - 20 £19,945 - £25,295 pro rata (Actual Salary £2,332 - £2,958) –

5 hours a week

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that will involve working with class teachers, the SENCO and other support staff to facilitate the teaching and learning of pupils. We are offering a role providing PPA cover, class cover and small group intervention.

Working in partnership with senior staff in the school to develop and undertake work, care and support programmes, you will enable access to learning for pupils whilst assisting the teacher in the management of pupils. In addition, you will modify the curriculum and develop resources to support teaching and the use of ICT to support learning.

As a qualified HLTA or TA3, you will ideally have experience of delivering lessons to a class as well as experience of intervention work. With a minimum level 2 literacy and numeracy qualification, coupled with Teaching Assistant L3, you will have experience of working with children in a supportive capacity and of modifying or developing resources to support teaching.

You must have a full working knowledge of school policies relating to health and safety, behaviour, attendance, equal opportunities and child protection.

Teaching Assistant Level 2

NJC 5-7 £18,795 - £19,554 pro rata (Actual Salary £9,671 - £10,061)

22 hours a week

Within the role you will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO or member of the School’s Management Team, undertaking pre-planned work, using your initiative to enable

pupils to access learning activity and supporting a child on a 1:1 basis. Working in partnership with teaching staff in the school, you will enable access to learning for pupils whilst assisting the teacher in the management of pupils.

We are looking for people who are passionate about teaching and learning, who believe in developing the true potential of all of our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, will have the ability to break down activities into small step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use behaviour management in all areas around school.

Midday Supervisory Assistants (MSA)

£17,364 - £18,065 pro rata (Actual Salary £2,030 - £2,112)

5 hours a week

The role is to care for, support and interact with children during the lunchtime period, which includes helping with setting up the hall, supporting children accessing the lunch service and supervision on the playground. The hours for this role will be for one hour a day Monday to Friday, term time.

No experience is necessary as long as you have a genuine care and passion for working with children.
