We are currently looking to recruit a significant number of relief Caretakers, to cover on an "as and when" basis when other staff are absent. These roles could cover any number of schools across the Trust, according to where staff would like to work. The locations we have are; York, Selby, Scarborough, Filey, Hull or the East Riding.
As a Caretaker, you will ensure that the school’s buildings and grounds are in proper working order, maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility. Carrying out minor repairs and reporting any faults which require specialist help, you will maintain the grounds and ensure the premises are clean and rubbish is collected.
The role also involves being responsible for the security of the buildings, carrying out security checks and ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
We are looking for someone who has good DIY skills and a knowledge of the basic maintenance required for school premises. With a good level of practical skills in areas such as buildings and grounds maintenance, manual handling techniques, safe use of power tools and electrical safety, you will also have an understanding of the safeguarding of children.
A flexible person who can work to deadlines, you will be able to communicate well with children, school staff and visitors, and will have the ability to work to deadlines and on your own initiative.
Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
As well as being an ideal way to make some extra cash, relief work can also be a great way to secure similar work of a longer term or even permanent nature.
We offer our relief staff the same rates of pay and terms and conditions as our permanent staff, so you would enjoy membership of our staff rewards scheme, offering you savings on your high street shopping and access to wellbeing services, as well as update training.
