In the role you will supervise, control and report the behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime break and maintain a calm environment in the dining room. Working with others in a team, you will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children at lunch time. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Preparing the dining room for lunch
  • Organising the queue and entrance of pupils to the dining hall
  • Assist with the collection of dinner money and/or the completion of records/registers
  • Supervise pupil activities in the playground
  • Dealing with any bullying/fighting/inappropriate behaviour (reporting incidents if necessary

With relevant experience of working with children in a formalised play setting, you will have knowledge of safeguarding children and an awareness of health and hygiene issues. Emotionally resilient when working with challenging behaviours, you will have a friendly disposition and effective interpersonal skills.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

As well as being an ideal way to make some extra cash, relief work can also be a great way to secure similar work of a longer term or even permanent nature.

We offer our relief staff the same rates of pay and terms and conditions as our permanent staff, so you would enjoy membership of our staff rewards scheme, offering you savings on your high street shopping and access to wellbeing services, as well as update training.
