The Ebor Academy Trust is a family of 24 schools serving children aged 2 to 16.

We are currently looking to recruit a significant number of relief Teaching Assistants, to cover on an "as and when" basis when other staff are absent. These roles could cover any number of schools across the Trust, according to where staff would like to work. The locations we have are; York, Selby, Scarborough, Filey, Hull or the East Riding.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO or member of the School’s Management Team, undertaking pre-planned work and using your initiative to enable pupils to access learning activity. Working with individual pupils or small groups of pupils, you will assist with the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher.

We are looking for people with experience of working with children in a supportive capacity who have a good knowledge of child development and children’s personal development needs and strategies which promote good behaviour and discipline. You will be resilient in the face of challenging pupil behaviour and will take appropriate action to meet pupil’s needs as they arise and understand the factors that impact upon childrens’ emotional needs and mental health.

A team player, you will have excellent communication skills for communicating with pupils, teachers, parents and relevant others. Strong time management and organisational skills are essential, as is being a competent user of IT.

Most importantly you must have a strong passion and resilience to work with children who often have complex needs.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
