Working at Ebor Academy Trust

A great place to work

Should you join Ebor Academy Trust, you will be entering a highly professional, rapidly growing organisation with a wide variety of benefits on top of many career development opportunities. Benefits include a great pension scheme, child care vouchers and discounted high street shopping. We acknowledge and promote a healthy work/life balance.

A supportive and friendly employer
Despite its rapid growth, the Trust has retained its family feel. We look after our people’s wellbeing too, with an employee assistance programme, health cash plans and occupational health assistance available to all those who work with us.
A thriving and progressive organisation
In challenging economic times, Ebor Academy Trust is a rapidly growing, financially secure operation, which is keen to embrace new ways of working and continuous development to help us meet our core purpose of providing high quality education to all our children.
An organisation that communicates and collaborates
As part of Ebor Academy Trust you won’t feel as though you are stuck in a silo. You’ll receive regular updates about what’s happening across the Trust as a whole and meet colleagues from across the organisation as we work together to share best practice and achieve great results.
Accessible workplaces, with no parking costs
All of our schools have their own car parks and where no spaces are available, local street parking is available, so staff can park without having to pay for the privilege.
A values driven company
Whilst we encourage all of our schools to retain their own character, one thing we all share are our values of Excellence, Belonging, Opportunity and Respect. These are visible across all our schools and embraced in all we do.
A healthy work/life balance
With excellent holiday entitlements for teaching and support staff alike, plus policies to support staff in their family commitments, Ebor Academy Trust encourages its staff to work hard and play hard.
Staff benefits schemes
We offer child care vouchers, a health cash plan and discounted high street shopping through our external partners, to help make your income go further.
Great pension schemes
The Local Government Pension Scheme or Teachers’ Pension Scheme is offered to all our staff. These are excellent schemes that provide life cover and ill-health retirement options as well as an income in later life.
Career development
Committed to identifying and nurturing talent at all levels, one advantage of working across a range of schools of varying sizes means that we are able to provide great opportunities for training and development. Development programmes are already in place for Newly Qualified Teachers, Recently Qualified Teachers and school leadership and the Trust has an impressive track record in sharing and developing talent across its schools.

Role profiles

Teachers

Passionate about development, Ebor has training programmes for NQTs, RQTs and aspiring leaders. Having schools of varying sizes across our Hubs allows us to offer job opportunities to staff so they can achieve their career plans without the need for leaving us as their employer.

Teaching Assistants

If you would like to work in the classroom, helping children learn but do not want to teach, a Teaching Assistant position could be for you. The Trust employs Teaching Assistants at various levels to operate under the direction of a class teacher to undertake work, care and support programmes, so that pupils can access learning and help the teacher in classroom management. Some Teaching Assistants work specifically with children with special education needs. Training programmes for Teaching Assistants are available to enable them to progress through the various job levels and for many, such positions do provide a route into Teacher training.

Lunchtime Assistants / Playworkers

If you are seeking part time work and enjoy organising children’s play, then we’d love to hear from you. Most of our schools need playworkers to oversee their breakfast clubs, lunchtimes and after school care, so a variety of contracts are often available.

Facilities Staff – Cleaners and Caretakers

Ensuring that our schools are safe, clean and generally fit for purpose is our facilities team. If you are interested in a cleaning or caretaking position, we would love to hear from you! As our schools are grouped into Hubs we offer development opportunities for caretakers to become Hub Site Managers, covering a group of schools. We particularly welcome people with experience in trades such as building, joinery, carpentry, electrical or plumbing.
